My oh my, what a weekend 4Evaeva had. @Therealtstorm and @Mskayleeg went to Tampa, FL, New York and back to Chicago in one weekend. Such a fun-filled weekend with family and friends.
So the journey began when we left Chicago on Friday, our flight was scheduled to leave at 3pm. We get to the airport at 1pm and see that all of the lines for security are ridiculously long. We were hoping that we wouldn’t miss our flight because of the lines. Luckily for us we caught our flight after we moved from security line to security line. We made it to Florida and the weather was absolutely beautiful. Oh wait, I forgot to mention why we were in Florida in the first place. Our trip to Florida was due to our cousins Hooding Ceremony taking place on Saturday. She was graduating from law school. She is now preparing for the bar exam. We are so proud of her. This woman is married with kids and has a full time job, she put her mind to accomplishing her goal and she did. That is why I don’t get tired of saying that we are extremely proud of her.
Hooding Ceremony took place on Saturday. Had a great time with everyone, now we had to go back to Aunt’s house, she was so nice to let us stay at her place, to rest up because we had a 7am flight to catch the following day. So, now it’s Sunday and we are up at 5am, getting ready and making our way to the airport for a 7am flight. While all of this is going on here I am, the six month pregnant lady, trying to keep up. Did I forget to mention that we were attending a wedding on that same Sunday that we were flying in? Yeah, so you can only imagine how tired we were beginning to feel. I digress; we catch our 7am flight and make it to Newark by 10am. Now at this point we have to get the rental car and rush to Brooklyn, my mother-in law lives in Brooklyn. We make it to Brooklyn and get something to eat, barely have any time to rest and then we have to attend the wedding that is an hour and a half drive away. No matter how far the wedding was it was worth it. I am so happy for our friends.
After the wedding we book it to the Bronx where my folks live: talk about trying to do it all in one weekend, ha-ha. We get to their place about 10pm or so. @Therealtstorm was super exhausted because he was doing all of the driving (God Bless his heart.) Got to see the family for a couple of hours, they were so happy to see us. We also made it out to Long Island, NY Monday morning before our flight that night. I’m typing all of this and I am already tired from just remembering everything that we did. Made it out to Long Island to see an Aunt, she was so happy to see us. The good thing about not rushing back to Brooklyn was that our flight back to Chicago was delayed by three hours!! Yes, three hours! And all because of the TSA lines out there. There wasn’t a line in New York.
But nonetheless, even though we got back to Chicago super late it was a wonderful weekend and so worth it. We needed to get away and we did. I wonder what adventure awaits us next.
