The holiday season is upon us and there is much to do.  I say this because, we are now living in Illinois and we (my husband and I) want our families to come out and visit us.  What does that mean for me?  It means that I will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner, yayyyy!!!!

Although I am very much excited about it, prepping for it is still a lot of work.  Getting the apartment set up (thank God we have a bigger space), make sure everything is in place (it’s the OCD in me) buying the food, buying the food.  See where I’m going here.  You spend a lot of money just for Thanksgiving dinner.  We have gone food shopping at least three or four times and I still don’t have everything I need.

For our first Thanksgiving together in Illinois my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law are coming up, and I of course want to make sure that everything is perfect.  I’ve never cooked a turkey before (insert shocked emoji), but I’m sure that there is nothing to it, just season the turkey and pop it in the oven, right?

I’m sure that everything will work out and that we will have a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner, I just need to stop thinking about it so much.  Hey, if the turkey isn’t fully cooked by the time it comes out of the oven, we will at least have each other to be thankful for and a lot of side dishes.

From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.
